Capitol Reef National Park

October 2021. 29 days. 35 Paintings.

In October 2021 I had the immense privilege of being an artist in residence at Capitol Reef National Park. For a month, I hiked, painted, and explored the park through paintings every day. It was incredible, unbelievably beautiful, sunny and warm some days and snowing others, and one of the most creatively expanding experiences of my life. This landscape is so vastly different from my home mountains in the Pacific Northwest, and I am so grateful I had the chance to be immersed in the desert and learn from it every day. With special thanks to the Park, and everyone who made this residency possible. Here is a gallery sharing most of the paintings I made during the month.
