CREA MONT BLANC

July 2019

4 Week Residency in Chamonix, France working with the Institute of Alpine Ecosystems (CREA) Mont Blanc

For one month I was immersed in the alpine ecosystems of the Alps. I worked with CREA’s researchers to make the two paintings below that illustrate the Mer de Glace Glacier and surrounding ecosystem. The paintings highlight the impact of climate change on snowpack, glacier recession, and phenology.

In addition to these paintings I created daily observations of elements of the landscape impacted by a warming climate, which can be found here.
