Glaciochemical Sources Infographic - Created for Dr. Karl Kreutz and Dr. Bess Koffman

This infographic tells the story of the various chemicals found within ice cores and the correlated representative data signals that Dr. Kreutz and Dr. Koffman find when the cores are analyzed. Ice cores are an incredible repository of information, from bubbles of air holding the story of ancient climate to chemical deposits that show seasonal fluctuations and even reflect the impact of the Clean Air Act.

This project was one of my favorites, as it was an opportunity to not only learn a lot about ice cores, but also to work closely with the researchers to develop the paintings and flow of the infographic. Projects like this are so enjoyable because I get to approach data and art from both the perspective of the researchers and a layperson audience to express the science in a way that anyone can understand.
