Enchantments Alpenglow

Alpenglow + alpine lakes. Two of my favorite things and two of the hardest things to paint. This painting is based on photo I took in the Enchantments area of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness in 2016. I woke up at 4am to hike to this spot and wait in the hopes of seeing the mountains glow... and they did. This is my favorite moment, when the color shift in the reflected mountains is most visible in warm tones of morning light and cobalt shadows.

The original painting is 30 inches long and 9 inches high. You can see it in the second product image. But, since this is an atypical size to frame I wanted to offer prints of the core of the painting at standard aspect ratios.
