The blue shadows lasted only a few seconds. A magical moment where cobalt blue shadows stretched across most of the rock, contrasted with the most pale yellow sunlight filtered through low clouds. I visited this place many times while the artist in residence at Escalante, and I only saw this light once. I am so glad I was there to see and try to paint it!!
